Arizona Woodpecker

The Arizona Woodpecker inhabits pine and oak woodlands of Mexico, Arizona and New Mexico. These images were captured in Portal Arizona, at the base of Cave Creek Canyon in the Chiricahua mountains on May 1, 2016. Portal lies at 4,750 feet above sea level and 60 miles north of the border with Mexico, and is a birding hot-spot.
